Tintoreras
- Tintoreras Islet is a small volcanic island located just off the coast of Puerto Villamil, on Isabela Island. It is renowned for its rich marine and terrestrial biodiversity. In a narrow lava crevice, visitors can observe white tip reef sharks (locally called “tintoreras”) resting in shallow waters. The islet is also home to marine iguanas—some of the largest in the archipelago—lava lizards, sea lions, and seabirds such as blue footed boobies, pelicans, herons, and occasionally Galápagos penguins.
Wetlands
- Visit to the flamingo wetlands on Isabela, in the Galápagos, is a must-do experience for nature lovers. This ecosystem of lagoons and mangroves, formed by volcanic
